Bread

I was out of bread, but still didn't have any money to buy some......solution? Make some!
Bread
Falcon PUNCH!
MIX 2 1/4 tsp yeast, 1 c water, 1/4 c sugar, 1/2 tbsp salt, 1 egg, 1/8 c veg oil, 4 c flour.
KNEAD dough 10 min
COVER till doubled
PUNCH down dough and
DIVIDE into two
PLACE on greased loaf pans
COVER till doubled
BAKE in 375 oven 25-30 mins

The punching down bit is fun. ^_^ I think it works best if you combine the dry and wet ingredients separately, THEN combine them. And start activating the yeast with some of the water and add it last. Add, say.....1.5 cups of flour with the "dry" ingredients. Add as much as you can stir in with a spoon (I don't have a mixer!) and then knead the rest/as much as makes a good stiff dough.


Now, I think my yeast is getting a bit old 'cause I had trouble with the rising and it turned out a bit dense. BUT! It tastes delicious and is bread. :)
